Update: Brexit and shipping to IDEXX

With the completion of the Brexit transition period, we would like to clarify the shipping process to ensure the smooth transportation of your samples, through customs, to our laboratory.

IDEXX has been committed to ensuring that all areas were covered throughout the Brexit process. Having prepared for a no-deal Brexit, we needed to update the requirements once a deal was finally met. As a result of these changes, there has been some confusion regarding the couriers, as they now require additional information on the Proforma Invoice.

What is now required for shipping to IDEXX?

For all shipments sent, we will require two copies of the fully completed Proforma Invoice, one on the inside of the package and one attached to the outside of the package, in the clear document holders we provide.

This documentation is required to pass the shipment through customs, and IDEXX must have a copy as a record that the correct documentation was received with the shipment. Without this documentation, we are not permitted to run the samples and will be required to contact you requesting this information before processing the samples – potentially causing delays to your patient’s results.

Following the Brexit deal, the Disease Declaration is no longer required.

IDEXX is committed to continually working on ways to make our processes easier for our customers. We are looking at multiple ways to improve the Proforma Invoice process further. If we do find ways to make this easier for you, we will make sure to implement them and update you accordingly.


14th December 2020

Due to Brexit (earlier pick-up), the cut off for shipping consumables in the UK will be 12:00 PM as of January 04th


2nd December 2020

As you are aware, the UK has left the European Union and is in a transition period until 31st December 2020. As negotiations continue between the UK and EU we want to do all we can to ensure that we continue to meet expected service levels for our valued customers during the transition and IDEXX is making the necessary preparations for product availability. This includes:

  • Ensuring inventory availability at our European Warehouse
  • Setting up paperless-trade to ensure easier flow of goods through customs

With any disruption out of IDEXX’s control, we suggest that our customers take appropriate measures to ensure they have enough stock, to cover the remaining transition period 2020 and early part of January 2021.

As no one can guarantee how events will unfold we recommend that you submit your orders by 28th December 2020 for delivery before 31st December 2020.

18th November 2020

The UK has left the EU and is now in a transition period, there will be new rules from 1st January 2021 related to many areas including transport of goods and shipping of biological samples in and out of the EU. We want to do all we can to ensure that we continue to meet expected service levels for our valued customers during the transition and IDEXX is making the necessary preparations for product availability. Further updates will be published here, please check back regularly.

29th January 2020

The UK is scheduled to leave the EU on 31st January 2020. We are not aware of any risk to our normal supply. Following this date there will be a transition period, should anything change we will continue to monitor the situation and update our customers accordingly.

4th October 2019

Currently the date for the UK’s exit from the European Union is still being discussed by the UK government. This is an evolving situation, IDEXX is monitoring developments and will provide an update once there is clarity on the final departure timing.
 
The UK is currently scheduled to leave the European Union on 31st October 2019. The situation is outside IDEXX’s control but we are committed to meeting expected service levels for our valued customers irrespective of the Brexit terms.
As a result, we are encouraging our customers to order and receive sufficient supplies of our products and consumables in advance of 31st October so that your clinics and your clients do not face disruption.
Advice to our customers: 

  • Order enough inventory for at least a 2-week window following Brexit. 
  • Due to expected high volumes at the end of the month and the potential for events outside our control, please order early and no later than 29th October to allow for delivery before Thursday 31st October. Customers can place orders by phone on 0203 7887508 or online at order.idexx.co.uk.
  • Refer back to this page for further IDEXX product service and delivery updates during the weeks up to and immediately following Brexit.

26th March 2019

We encourage customers to order and receive sufficient supplies of our products and consumables in advance of 29th March so that clinics do not face disruption.

We advise that customers: 
  • Order enough inventory for at least a 2-week window following Brexit. 
  • Submit orders by Wednesday 27th March for delivery before Friday 29th March. Customers can place orders by phone on 0203 7887508 or online at order.idexx.co.uk.
  • Refer back to this page for further IDEXX product service and delivery updates during the weeks up to and immediately following Brexit.
